Lake Konigssee
Lake Konigssee is a natural, glacier-cut lake located within Berchtesgaden National Park in the German state of Bavaria. The storied Alps rise along the shoreline of Konigssee, up to a height of 8,900'. Lake Konigssee is considered the "cleanest lake in Germany". Only row and pedal boats are allowed on the pristine waters---along with several electric tourist boats. St Bartholoma, a famous pilgrimage church is located along the western shoreline. The photos were taken along the Alpine hiking trail at "Malerwinkel" or the "painter's viewpoint".

The King's Lake
The literal translation of Lake Konigssee is the "King's Lake". The Alps frame this picturesque lake setting and feature the the towering Watzmann peak. St. Bartholoma, a famous Catholic, pilgrimage church is located along Konigssee's western shore.
